Showcases and demos
Explore asset capabilities through five showcase categories and a 20-station technical labs covering optics, item inspection, Cinemachine sequences, focus proxies, adaptive volumes and more.
Explore PBADOF showcases
Opening the Showcase Launcher
Open the launcher
In Unity, open Window > HIBIKI entertainment > Depth Of Field > Showcase Launcher.
Choose a compatible scene
The launcher detects your active render pipeline, HDRP or URP, and offers the five compatible showcase scenes.
Open a showcase
Select a showcase to open its scene.
Showcase scenes are not automatically added to Build Settings when the product is imported. The Showcase Launcher can explicitly add the five scenes matching the active render pipeline. Mixed HDRP and URP showcase builds are rejected by validation.
Showcase categories
Each showcase focuses on a different PBADOF workflow.
Weapon Optics
Red-dot sight, physical-lens variable scope, and 1x to 4x continuous zoom. Demonstrates weapon-lens calculations and ADS volume switching.
Item Inspection
Rotate and inspect a world-space item with a blurred background. Demonstrates focus distance control for close-up examination.
Cinemachine Sequence
Timeline-based camera sequence with multiple shots and explicit lens authority. Demonstrates blending PBADOF autofocus with Cinemachine 3.
Focus Proxy
Renderer-only objects versus fitted physics proxies. Demonstrates when and how focus proxies make non-physical objects hittable.
Adaptive Volumes
Active output, output disabled or solver paused, priority lens blending, and full component sleep. Demonstrates the volume system and output control.
Guided technical lab
The technical lab is a 20-station guided tour through PBADOF features for both HDRP and URP. Each station includes a description, an expected result, and focus-ray markers so you can see how the solver reaches its result.
The lab includes bokeh cue objects, camera-path comparisons, and both static and animated stations. Stations cover lens comparisons, tag filtering, glass traversal, ray patterns, pitch fallback, and maximum-distance comparisons.
Do not open the HDRP lab in a URP project or the URP lab in an HDRP project. Use the scene that matches your active render pipeline.
Opening the technical lab
Open the matching lab scene
Open the scene that matches your render pipeline:
- HDRP:
Demo/ADOFLab/Pipelines/HDRP/ADOFLab HDRP.unity - URP:
Demo/ADOFLab/Pipelines/URP/ADOFLab URP.unity
Enter Play Mode
Enter Play Mode to start the lab and load the station interface.
Navigate the stations
Use the on-screen guide or the keyboard controls below to navigate between stations and comparisons.
Lab controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Left / Right | Change station |
| Tab | Cycle comparisons within a station |
| Space | Start or pause motion on eligible animated stations |
| R | Reset the current station |
| H | Show or hide help |
| O | Show or hide the always-sharp guide |
An always-sharp guide is available at each station. Toggle it with the O key to compare the autofocus behaviour against a fully sharp reference frame.
